4. Can I take two policies and claim for both policies?

Yes, an individual can take two policies and claim for both.

5. From whom should I buy insurance?

You can buy Insurance cover directly from us (Occidental Insurance Co. Ltd)  or from our agents and brokers country wide.

6. Can I transfer Insurance policy to another party?

No. This is a contract between you and insurance company which cannot be transferred to another party.

7. Can I cancel my policy if I am not satisfied with its terms and conditions?

Yes. For general insurance contracts, cancellation of the policy will lead to a proportionate refund of the premiums so far paid.

8. How do cancel my insurance policy?

9. What is Insurance claim?

Insurance claim is a request for payment by the insured from insurer when the event that was insured against occurs as per the terms of the insurance policy.

10. How do I make insurance claim?

In order to make a claim, you have to fill up the claim form then contact the claims centre.

11. Can I make insurance claim through agent or broker?

Yes. You can make claim through broker or agent if you bought policy from that agent or alternatively you can directly contact us.

12. Where do I get Insurance Claim forms?

You can download claim forms from our website documents center. Also, you can visit any of our offices countrywide and request for claim forms.

13. Can I claim for towing charges after an accident?

Yes, you can claim for towing charges that you paid for your vehicle to be towed. However you will be required to provide to us evidence that you paid for towing charges.

14. To claim my personal property in domestic package policy, how important is it to keep inventory list?

 In case of fire, theft or natural calamities, if your house is completely damaged and if you want to claim your personal property to insurance company, an inventory list is very important.  The insurance company will only pay you for those items where you are able to show the evidence that the damaged items belong to you. So, it is advisable to keep a list of the inventory in a safe place.
